Marielle studied Industrial Design engineering at the University of Technology (TU) in Delft, the Netherlands, and then worked as food marketing specialist at Unilever. Since 2002 she has been an independent food designer, combining her marketing experience with the design skills in a totally unique way.
As an industrial designer, Marielle has been trained to design products that are produced on a large scale. So she focuses on food and drink that is made in high quantities. It is exactly in the automated mass production of everyday food and drink that there is still a world to conquer. With her designs Marielle wants to achieve that we put more care and attention into our food and drink. She tries to actively involve both producer and consumer and to achieve this, she uses all her professional design tools she can put her hands on.
